Privacy Policy

We believe you should be able to read your bank's privacy policy in under five minutes. Here's ours.

1. Information we collect

When you open a TRADESMART account we collect: identifiers (name, date of birth, BVN, government ID), contact details (email, phone, address), financial information (bank account, transaction history), and technical signals (device, IP, browser). We collect KYC data because Nigerian regulators require it — not because we want it.

2. How we use your data

We use your information to verify your identity, settle trades to your bank account, prevent fraud, comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and CBN guidelines, and improve the product. We do not sell your data. Ever.

3. When we share information

We share information with: licensed payment partners (Paystack, partner banks) to settle Naira; KYC providers to verify your identity; regulators when legally compelled; and our cloud and security vendors under strict data-processing agreements.

4. How long we retain it

We retain account and transaction records for a minimum of 7 years after your last activity, in line with CBN and SCUML record-keeping rules. You may request deletion of marketing data at any time.

5. Your rights

Under the NDPA you have the right to access, correct, port, and (where lawful) delete your personal data. Email privacy@tradesmart.ng and we'll respond within 30 days.

6. Security

We use TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, hardware-backed key custody, multi-factor admin access, and continuous monitoring. No system is 100% secure, but we treat your data the way we'd want our own treated.

7. Cookies

We use first-party cookies for session management and a single privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand product usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Updates

We'll notify you by email at least 14 days before any material change to this policy.
